Why is Hollenshead commited to selling at live auction and not on the OVE, Smart, or Open Lane?
I believe the greatest place on earth to find real ACV is at a live auction. I believe that online sales -- in conjunction with live block action -- allows all participants that fair market value, and measure of intestinal fortitude is found. Log on to one of my simulcast sales and see what I am talking about. We are not playing with crossed fingers.
How does Hollenshead buy so many cars?
Get up early and go to bed late. Build trust with dealers everywhere. Treat people like you want to be treated. Do business with honor, not to make a profit at any cost. Make sure you live by your word.
Where does Hollenshead Auto buy their cars?
Off the street. We buy from individuals and we price and buy trades from new car dealers. We currently have 948 dealers in our buying web. We are their bank. We pay on the barrel head, not on the come. That is why we have the most diverse inventory of any combinations of sellers anywhere in the country. We don't buy and reshuffle auction cars. I forbid my buyers from going to auctions and buying like robots to trick a dealer into paying more for the same car. For me, that went out of style in the 1980s.
Has any one at MMR, Blackbook, NADA, or Kelley ever bought or sold a car?
Not likely. So where do the prices come from? If you don't do it for a living, how do you come up with the disclaimed guess they publish? It really is funny. The folks that developed Used Car Invoice have bought and sold over a half a million cars off the street, not at auctions. No one in automotive history has bought and sold more wholesale vehicles then Robert Hollenshead. A simple statistical fact. Whose prices should you trust your business to? And we put our money where our mouth is.
Why do people use books to value cars?
Because until now they had no choice. Think of Used Car Invoice as Google, and Books as the encyclopedia industry. They had alot of old information in those books. Our pricing is instant and changes like any other commodity, all day every day... and it's backed with a check, not a disclaimer.
Why aren't there any other books or dealers that have developed this technology?
Who could? Books don't know anything about buying or selling cars. How could they? What other dealer on earth could develop the process? Call me direct when you think of someone at 610 960 6346, ask for the King, I can't wait to hear from you.
How is Hollenshead different then using a guide or MMR?
We are a live price , they are an opinion you can't use. We are a bullet, they are a blank. We are the quarter back, they are the cheerleaders. Real, and phoney. It's simple. Sell your units to a book or MMR...you obviously can't. You can take my price to the bank...now.
Will R. Hollenshead Auto Sales sell my cars for me at auction?
Are you crazy? No, but I'll buy them from you. We don't pimp numbers because we are professionals. Others sell numbers because they can't compete on the street so it is the only way they can "act" like they are selling cars. The result is next to no conversion and a bad taste in every ones mouth.
Why is it called Used Car Invoice?
Because the retail customer wants to buy his new car for invoice, so we have to trade his car for invoice. Who else can develop the technology, pricing and purchase offer other then the world's largest volume wholesaler? A dealer now can use this product to negotiate the trade. Sell your new car for invoice, but tell the customer you need to trade his car for invoice also. Print it out and explain this is the price you are going to sell his car for. Negotiation is over.
